Profound, prolific, and prophetic would properly express the ministry of Bishop Lillian A. Thompson. This Saint Petersburg Native and daughter of the Pentecostal Church was nurtured in Holiness under her late mother, Prophetess Annie R. Rush. It was at Zion Temple Holiness Church, under the leadership of the late Pastor Bobby L. Bolden, Bishop Thompson demonstrated a passion for the ministry.
At the age of 12, she received Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized. It was prophesied that she would be different from other children, and at that time, the call of God was made prevalent in her life. Being led by the Holy Spirit, Pastor Bolden and her mother, Prophetess Rush, began teaching her God’s word. In 1973, after much training and development, Bishop Thompson gave her trial sermon and has been teaching and preaching God’s Word for 49 years.

Our mission
The Holy Ghost Church of God Purchased With His Blood is called to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the beliefs of the evangelistic Christian faith. We are a church that has been founded on the word of God, biblical principles and prayer. Our utmost goal and desire is to win souls for the Kingdom of God. By maintaining the worship of God, inspiring in all persons a love for Christ and each other, a passion for righteousness and a consciousness of our duties to God and fellow human beings. We will be a church with a spirit of excellence, integrity and compassion for all who we serve and come in contact with. We pledge our lives to Christ and covenant with each other to demonstrate His Spirit through worship, witnessing and ministering to the needs of the members of this church and surrounding communities.
